Jan Trousilek introduced Lanex yacht cordage, a line of European yachting ropes to the US from his storefront at 123 Narragansett Avenue in April 2017. Now, the avid sailor and traveler is charting a new course and has turned the helm over to Jamestown local, Jonathan Thurston.
A native Rhode Islander, graduate of Portsmouth High School, firefighter for both the US Air Force and NETC Newport and most recently, a local contractor, Jonathan has also been sailing for more than 25 years. He brings extensive racing and cruising experience to marketing Lanex Yacht Lines, which are produced in the Czech Republic for racers and cruisers alike.
For both men, injury and health concerns were calling for a change. Separately, each realized that their livelihoods were unsustainable. So, after several months and many long discussions, the two agreed that Jonathan should be the next exclusive US distributor of Lanex Yacht Lines at Sensible Yacht Cordage, where he hopes to serve the Narragansett Bay sailing community and extend the awareness of the Lanex brand throughout New England and the rest of the United States.
Jonathan looks forward to promoting these popular European sailing lines and to be part of the Jamestown business community. As luck would have it, this Irishman has a little bit of Czech heritage. Seems fitting that he is charting the next course for Lanex and Sensible Yacht Cordage.
Shop hours have changed - Tuesday through Friday Noon to 4:00 and Saturday 8:00 - 4:00. Please stop by and welcome Jonathan to the Narragansett Avenue business community and check out these popular European Sailing Lines.
