 The main purpose of the LS-3300 Gate Eye to Splice Eye is to transfer the life line from fence to gate through the stanchion pole.  The gate eye portion of this hardware is large enough to except  the LS-3100 Gate Hook for easy operation.  The unique cone design on the threaded portion of the splice eye locks into the stanchion hole for firm and solid connection. The stanchion holes can be between 5/16" to 7/16" for proper operation of the LS-3300. Contact Lanex Yachting USA if there problems with hole sizes to mount this product.
